Help, Alexa Demie (who stars as Maddy Perez in Euphoria) claims the character doesn’t get a happy ending, and I’m scared. In season three episode five of Euphoria, Maddy went into business with Rue’s creepy criminal boss Alamo. This doesn’t exactly bode well for Maddy’s welfare (especially as Alamo has a history of killing his employees). We have another reason to worry about Maddy now. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Alexa Demie said she “was excited” when she first saw the scripts for season three. She explained: “I thought it made sense. We see her leave all that she knows. She leaves her home. I felt it made sense she would come to Los Angeles and try to make a name for herself and make some money and get herself out of the darker parts of life … We knew Maddy was going to Hollywood. But I was excited to see Maddy in that environment.” The actor thought the style of season three “feels especially cinematic” and “elevated” compared to seasons one and two. However, she didn’t sound quite so enthused about Maddy’s ending. Nooooo, Maddy, get a milkshake somewhere else(Image via HBO) When asked if she thought season three would be the final one, Alexa replied: “I don’t know. It feels like it.” Alexa was then asked if she is happy with where Maddy ends up. She responded: “Yeah… I don’t want to… I don’t want to give it away. It’s Euphoria. It’s not a happy ending, but it’s close.” Extra TV also questioned Alexa Demie about whether she was happy with where Maddy is at by end of the season three. After hesitating, tilting her head, and saying “yeah” six times, Alexa described Maddy’s ending as “very fitting for Euphoria”. Er, what does “fitting for Euphoria” mean? Does the finale involve more giantess fetishes, or lubed-up balloons of drugs, or something even more unhinged? I dread to think where these two will end up(Image via HBO) The show’s creator, Sam Levinson, hasn’t spilled much about the specifics of season three’s ending. However, he has teased the final few episodes will get even more chaotic. He told The Wrap that the next episodes would be an “emotional and thrilling journey”. He said: “It’s the roller coaster that keeps clicking up.” Apparently, episode six will have a much darker tone, then episode seven will be more emotional. This doesn’t exactly bode well for our fav Euphoria characters. We’ll keep Maddy Perez in our prayers. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
