We finally get the fourth film in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series this summer, and there’s a huge hint he might not make it to the end of the credits. It’s been 10 years since we were first graced with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Since then, he’s appeared in six other Marvel films, including three Spider-Man additions. It was unclear whether there’d be a fourth after the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but thankfully, we can watch Brand New Day at the end of July 2026. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, who has directed several other Marvel films and is behind Brand New Day, gave a cryptic response when Deadline asked whether this was the last Spider-Man film. via Disney “Is there ever a last Spider-Man?” Destin said. “Everyone should go to this (movie) as if it’s the last Spider-Man.” Uh oh. Additionally, people have noticed that Tom Holland isn’t in the cast list for the next big Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday. While Marvel does things like this to keep things ambitious and avoid spoiling upcoming films, it’s hard to ignore what this could mean. In an interview with Esquire, Tom Holland hinted about what we could expect from the new film. “This movie is a real mystery, and for a large portion of the film, even Spider-Man is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, ‘What is going on?’,” he said. “We’re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.” via Disney Even if Tom Holland’s Peter Parker doesn’t die in the new film, it’s safe to say this will be his last Spider-Man film. But Tom’s got his own pick of who would be the next best successor of the mask. “Owen Cooper would be awesome,” he said. “Obviously he’s super-talented and the talk of the town right now.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
