*Warning: Spoilers ahead for Euphoria season three episode seven* In an ironic twist, the end of Euphoria season three episode seven sees Maddy (Alexa Demie) inherit Cassie and Nate’s debt, and HBO may have just spoiled where this road takes her. The latest instalment is undoubtedly the biggest yet, as Nate’s (Jacob Elordi) dealings with loan shark Naz (Jack Topalian) come back to bite him in the ass (or, in this case, the face). When Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) doesn’t come up with the money in time, Naz buries Nate alive with nothing more than an air vent. He then kidnaps Cassie and tells her she has 72 hours to come up with a million dollars. Why 72 hours? Because otherwise Nate will die of dehydration. She turns to Maddy for help, who in turn calls in a favour with Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). He agrees but only after Maddy puts on his chosen swimsuit and gets in the hot tub with him (more on this shortly). However, when they show up to make the deal, Cassie hands over the bag of cash, Naz opens it up, and he finds playing cards instead of money. Credit: HBO Before he can do anything, Alamo shoots him dead and Naz’s henchman joins their side. They dig Nate out of his shallow grave, only to discover he’s dead, having been bit by a snake. Just before this horrifying conclusion, Alamo makes it clear that he doesn’t do anything for free. “More than a million in the hole. That’s 20% of all future earnings,” he says, referring to the girls Maddy is managing. “It’s a steep price to pay for friendship,” he adds, but Maddy replies, “Little did I know you’d get her back for free,” indicating that she had no idea Alamo wasn’t actually going to hand the cash over. “Don’t mean the dead don’t live on,” Alamo says, and Maddy realises she’s the one now trapped with the consequences. Alamo continues, “What, you think ‘cause I got a soft spot for you, I’d do all this sh*t for free? You know what? About time your ass wised up.” Why Euphoria fans are suddenly terrified Maddy is going to die Credit: HBO Let’s first clarify: Maddy is still alive by the end of Euphoria season three episode seven. However, some fans are convinced that she’ll die in the upcoming finale after discovering a tweet from HBO. Originally posted on May 19th, it says, “The (second) coldest female Alamo ever knew,” alongside a picture of Maddy. The tweet was seemingly in reference to last week’s episode, which introduced us to Alamo’s backstory including his mum, and in the present day showed Alamo and Maddy agreeing to do business. But now Maddy is entangled with Alamo financially – and possibly trapped in the same system Angel was – fans think the HBO post may have foreshadowed her fate days in advance. On X, one fan shared the post and wrote, “This just confirmed it. RIP Maddy Perez.” Another said, “KNEW?????” to which the OP responded, “I fear Sam Levinson really tried itttt.” This just confirmed it. RIP Maddy Perez 🕊️ https://t.co/zjEHa9tb5I — meyechelgossips (@meyechelgossips) May 24, 2026 “No because this one actually hurts,” added a third, to which a fourth chimed in, “Please don’t say that.” By now, we know that Alamo is a dangerous man – he sent Angel to “rehab”, and the latest Euphoria episode suggests she’s actually been trafficked. Rue even finds a pile of ID cards belonging to the girls who disappeared after working at the Silver Slipper, and Laurie all but confirms Alamo’s been trafficking women this whole time. Maddy being indebted to him now is concerning, but some fans think that Alamo might be the one who kicks the bucket in the finale amid his ongoing war with Laurie. “Maybe Alamo dies,” said one, with another adding, “Or RIP Alamo.” And then there are fans who don’t think either of them are dying and this is just an innocuous tweet. We’ll have to wait for the finale to find out. Wait, did Maddy have sex with Alamo though? Credit: HBO Even though Maddy owes Alamo, getting him to agree to the favour in the first place meant she had to cater to his desires (as said, by getting in the hot tub). But fans are confused about whether they actually hooked up. “I’m confused, did Maddy have sex with Alamo?” wrote one on Reddit. Though Levinson has neither confirmed nor denied this, it’s at the very least implied. Firstly, Magick (Rosalía) has to talk her into it, saying, “Don’t overthink it. Trade a thousand bad days for a good life.” If she simply had to get in the tub in a skimpy outfit, do you really think she’d be saying that? Also, as one fan pointed out, “The next scene had her against the wall with the deer heads implying she’d been hunted/conquered.” Another commented, “It was implied they did something. I feel so bad for her. All that trouble for f**king Cassie?” Credit: HBO What’s more, Maddy inadvertently signs Rue’s death warrant when she lets slip about her talking about the DEA. Alamo doesn’t react, as he knows she’ll go and warn Rue. It’s played off like a throwaway comment, but you’d think Maddy would be more switched on than to just blurt it out like that. Whatever happened in that hot tub, Euphoria’s made it clear that no one is safe heading into the finale, which lands on HBO Max on Sunday, May 31st.
