With the conclusion of The Boys season five, people are obviously wondering about a possible season six, Vought Rising, and The Boys: Mexico. After The Boys became a smash hit, it was only a matter of time before the bigwigs at Prime Video set their sights on an expanded universe, despite the show literally mocking the Marvel Cinematic Universe in promotional material. The first was Gen V, which was an x-rated collegiate show that got 94 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes. Amazon only recently cancelled it, enraging literally everyone, in favour of new projects like Vought Rising and The Boys: Mexico. Here’s an update on all of those projects. Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising will tell the tale of Vought International’s origin story, and its first heroes with V1: Soldier Boy, Torpedo, Bombsight, Private Angel, and Liberty, known to us as the Nazi Stormfront. The show is described as a murder mystery and is set for release sometime in 2027. The show is set after the events of The Boys, but that’s basically all we know. Earlier, and after backlash about Gen V’s cancellation, Eric Kripke teased the potential for characters to pop up in future projects. Whether that actually happens is yet to be seen.
