We’ve been desperate for The Deep to have a grisly death since the very first episode of The Boys, when he assaulted Starlight. Yet five seasons later, he’s still hanging in there. Ah, shame. So, will The Deep finally die in The Boys season five? Here’s what we know. Does The Deep die in the comics? So, The Boys TV show is based on a series of comics. The main saga wrapped up in 2012, so we know what sticky ends the main characters meet. I hate to break it to you, but The Deep doesn’t get his comeuppance in the comics. In the grand finale, Homelander plots to take over the United States of America. He raises an army of Supes to attack the White House. Amazingly, The Deep does one non-terrible thing, and gets cold feet about the plan. He runs away from Homelander, hides during the battle, and waits to see who wins. Surely this bromance will be over soon?(Image via Prime Video) So, in the comics, The Deep is actually the only original member of The Seven to survive the finale. Vought tries to rebrand itself, and start a new superhero team called True. These 12 Supes all wear uniforms which resemble the uniforms of the Ku Klux Klan. The Deep is the only named member. The Deep could have a different story in the season five finale Urgh(Image via Prime Video) We don’t know for certain that the ending of the TV show will stick to the finale of the comic series. The TV show already shook up quite a few elements of the story. For instance, Stormfront is a man in the comics, and Black Noir is very different. There is a risk that The Deep will hang on in there until the end of time just to spite me, though. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
