Tom Holland has spoken out about why he no longer appears on red carpets with Zendaya.

However, don’t panic, because the reason is more wholesome than you’d think.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the Marvel star explained that he doesn’t join his girlfriend during the events “because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”

Although, he did admit that he’s more than happy to appear alongside her if they’re promoting a joint project, as they did with Spider-Man.

The couple last appeared together at a promo event in 2021. This was for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which they both starred in.

Since then, they have both appeared in a number of blockbusters, including Tom in Unchartered, and Zendaya in Challengers, Dune, and Dune: Part Two.

This comes as the couple are rumoured to be engaged after Zendaya turned up to the Golden Globes with an alleged engagement ring. However, neither party have confirmed the news yet.

Tom has spoken candidly about when he’ll finish acting, saying: “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.

“Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”

The couple have been together since 2021, and whilst they keep themselves relatively private, there have been a couple of times they’ve opened up about the inner-workings of their relationship.

In an episode of Dish from Waitrose, speaking about working with his girlfriend, Tom said: “Studios love it. One hotel room. Separate drivers. We’re not crazy now.”

He continued by saying: “It’s a saving grace. Yeah, best thing that’s ever happened to me.

“It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that, like, familiar glance at each other of like, can’t wait to talk about that later.”

Zendaya also spoke to Vanity Fair about her relationship, explaining that she doesn’t find it weird being in a scene with her boyfriend: “It’s actually strangely comfortable. It’s like second nature, if anything. You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside.

“I love working with him. He’s so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him. It feels pretty normal. That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read.”

However, if you’re left wondering when we’ll see the couple working together again, fear not, as in 2026 both of the stars will be in the next Spider-Man instalment, as well as Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey.
