  • Angel Lawson is the Birmingham Tab's Features Editor, a role putting her in charge of editing other people's articles, carrying out Tab meetings, and creating Birmingham trending articles on pop culture and self-development. Angel previously started at the Birmingham Tab in 2023 as a Student Contributor.
  • Angel has created her own genealogy business on the freelancing platform Fiverr, where she researches into people’s family trees and provides information that was previously unknown to customers. Angel currently has a star rating of five stars regarding her business from her customers.
  • Angel in 2023 created her social media account @historywithangel on TikTok and Instagram to spark people’s interest into ancient and medieval history. From this she has amassed 1500 followers respectively on both platforms and has met various people in the history field.

Experience

Through Angel’s social media, @historywithangel, she has interacted with various different publishers and is well-known for giving reviews of highly anticipated historical books. Furthermore, Angel is also currently writing for the Historians’ Magazine and World History Encyclopedia to gain more experience in academic writing. Additionally, Angel has completed her Level 2 in Digital Social Media Marketing with the Skill’s Network which is a recognised certificate as of the summer of 2024.

Education

Angel completed her BA Ancient and Medieval History degree at the University of Birmingham in 2024, graduating with a 2:1. Angel’s dissertation was on the factors surrounding antisemitic violence during the Black period of the fourteenth century. Angel is now currently studying for her MA in Medieval and Early Modern History at the University of Birmingham and is currently looking into PhDs.
