People have cracked who Hera called at the end of Netflix’s Kaos and I’m terrified
As if this rollercoaster of a show could get any more dramatic
Kaos has already taken the Netflix top ten by storm, and I’ve already learnt more about Greek mythology than I ever did in school. The show has SO many unsolved mysteries so far, and the creator has already revealed huge plans for the next two seasons (provided that it’s renewed by Netflix, of course). However, there’s one mystery that really stuck out to me in the Netflix show: Who does Hera call at the end of the season of Kaos?
In a sketchy call from a phone booth, Hera, Zeus’s wife, tells an unidentified listener: “Darling, it’s mommy. Gather the troops. And make up the spare bed.” Sounds pretty menacing, especially since we don’t know who is actually on the other end of the line.
But, when you think about it, it’s actually easy to narrow down who Hera could be talking to. It has to be one of her kids, given that she calls herself “mommy”, and seeing as she is preparing to go to war, it’s likely that she called Ares, who is the God of war, and a child of hers in Greek mythology.
If it’s true, it would completely tie up this mystery, and it’ll be absolutely INSANE to see how Ares is portrayed in Kaos: He’s the one who will be able to quickly assemble an army for battle.

Also, Ares isn’t just a child of Hera, he’s also a child of Zeus. In the second episode of Kaos, he is one of the children Zeus calls during his birthday. But, given the timeline of the show and the other characters’ ages, Kaos’s version of Ares will be a lot younger, and perhaps a bit more of a loose cannon.
People on Reddit have also pointed out that Ares is a “notorious Mama’s boy”, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to drop everything to come to her aid.
On the other hand, another user suggested that it might be Athena who Hera called. They wrote: “Athena is the goddess of war, wisdom, and handcraft. She’s the best at strategy, but she isn’t Hera’s child. Hera is great at strategy herself, so she may have called her to be her general, but I don’t know if she can overlook Athena being Zeus’s child. None of Zeus’s children like him and his paranoia is the reason the family fell, so they do have a common enemy.”
The user also mentioned that Ares “isn’t that bright”, so I guess that’s a point in Athena’s favour.
However, we’ve seen first hand evidence that Hera doesn’t take to her non-biological children well, so I’m not sure she could see past that to recruit her. It would be pretty badass though.
We can only pray to the Netflix Gods that the show gets renewed for another season, so we can finally figure out who Hera called, and watch more Kaos ensue.
