A raging fire has broken out at one of NYU’s medical buildings
There’s smoke blowing over the East River
A huge fire broke out at NYU’s Langone Medical Center this afternoon.
Footage shows a bright orange fire on the roof of the building, and smoke blowing over Manhattan.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor and set off two fire alarms.
Images posted on social media show the blazing fire, but it is not thought to be a threat to patients.
The building is currently under construction and was not occupied.
The fire is said to be under control, and firefighters are on the scene.
