Alec Cook expelled from UW-Madison after ‘responsible’ verdict for ‘crime of violence’ in university hearing

A university committee has found Cook responsible for a ‘crime of violence’

Last October, the University of Wisconsin- Madison placed Alec Cook on emergency suspension after severe allegations emerged of his misconduct and caused concern for the safety of the campus as a whole.

Now, a university nonacademic misconduct hearing committee has found Cook responsible for a “crime of violence”. This misconduct directly violates the university’s student conduct policies and is resulting in his expulsion.

Cook has until March 24th to appeal the decision to Chancellor Rebecca Blank. Chris Von Wagner, an attorney for Alec Cook, says that they will be appealing the decision.

The next court day scheduled for Cook is a hearing on March 31st. Alec Cook is still facing trial for 21 criminal charges.
