Shot fired on Mendota Court Sunday morning

The case is being further investigated as an attempted homicide.

At 12:41 a.m. Sunday morning a 22 year-old male was shot in the abdomen while attending an outdoor party behind a residence at the 600 block of Mendota Court.

The victim was taken hastily to an area hospital where he was treated for his life-threatening injuries. After being treated he is expected to survive Lt. John Radovan said.

The victim was not a student at UW-Madison, and the case is being further investigated as an attempted homicide by the Madison police department.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, police are still looking for the shooter.
