A tribute to second year

An adventure in pretending to adult

The other day we posted “A tribute to first year.” While first year was fun and everything, we thought we’d give the other years a chance to express themselves.

It’s fun to look back on all the new experiences that second year brings. The year of first apartments and more responsibilities may leave your head spinning but there’s no denying you grow so much second year (and do a lot of dumb shit).

Taking classes you actually enjoy

FINALLY! Freedom to take classes that are not merely to fulfill a requirement!!

Attempting to learn how to cook

SOS mom how do I cook something other than pasta?

Finding the friends who will be there for you through thick and thin

Two years into college, the first year friends may have dissipated. The girl in your hall you thought would be your best friend forever you never talk to anymore. But at this point you start figuring out who is really there for you

Not knowing what to do when the heat in the apartment breaks

Adulthood? What?

Still loving the kids from your dorm

There’s an unmistakable love between Kellogg kids. It’s Kellove. And it’ll always be there.

Studying a LOT more than you’re used to

Oh yay these classes are so interesting, but wait what do you mean I have three papers and two exams next week?

Obsessing over the new first years

If you’re in a sorority, you get this.

We’re already nostalgic about the adventures that come with first year. Despite the fact that many “babies” are my age or even older than me, I wish I were back in their shoes and want to do everything I can to make sure that they have the great friendships, new experiences, and make mistakes that will make hilarious stories later on. (Remember when drunk me wouldn’t put on my PJs until my friend sang to me? Or when we broke into the boiler room to play beer pong?)

Still having no idea how to cook

Help, mom, help.

Still not knowing most of your contacts

Who are these people and why did first year drunk me think it was a good idea to exchange numbers?

Thanks for the advice, drunk me?

Kyle who?
