Why USC is the best college in LA, America and probably the world

I know that every college student likes to think that they’ve wound up at the very best university.

Whether it’s academics because they’re a geek, sports because they’re an athlete or the party scene because they… know how to have a good time, students hold their university in the highest esteem.

But here’s the thing SC, we actually do go to the very best and here’s why:

Let’s start with what we’re famous for: Game Day

School spirit is high even on the average day at SC so it is hard to imagine that it can get any higher… that is until your first game day. Walk down the row, across McCarthy Quad or anywhere around the USC area and you will encounter a sea of Cardinal and Gold: alumni, students and kids alike, fighting on at their chosen tailgate.

The order of the day I hear you ask? Music, food and a shotgun or two before heading down to the iconic coliseum – just make sure you don’t forget to kick the pole for luck on the way.

Getting turnt

As my esteemed colleague wrote, we are the University of Solo Cups. 

Everyone leaves this place with a minor in partying and how to rally. You’ll catch us out a minimum of three times a week, fully embracing whatever *ALWAYS PC* theme is thrown at us in the most imaginative of ways.

On the row, around SC or out in Hollywood we turn up. And that’s not including the day parties; that special day of the week named fraturday.

We can balance the beers and the books

However we are not just tailgating, party going college students. We are also bloody intelligent. With 2015’s acceptance rate hitting just 17.5% and their average un-weighted G.P.A being 3.83 on a 4.0 scale it is safe to say that USC is full of fun, beautiful and down right clever individuals such as yourself.

This is probably why we go on to be CEO’s, esteemed actors and generally top people on this planet we call earth.

The facilities are incredible 

I imagine the beauty of school itself has something to do with the fact we don’t mind working so hard. Just stop and look around you, the red brick; the architecture; the beautiful Doheny library and social campus centre.

USC is beautiful.

But it doesn’t just look pretty, its state of the art too. Say hi to the media centre in Annenberg and studio’s at the Zemeckis Center. And whilst we’re at it, we should probably give a shout out to some of the awesome professors who teach us, I mean how many other schools have James Franco at their cinema school?

(The answer is 1, and it’s UCLA so it doesn’t count).

No school could compete with our location 

I feel like this one goes without saying but… University of Southern California… in Los Angeles.

Downtown views from university roofs (SGM say what?), twenty-minute Uber’s to the best Hollywood clubs and surf worthy beaches a skip hop and a jump away? USC is the perfect spot.

And need I even mention the weather?

There’s always something awesome going on

Not every campus has G-Eazy at the Shrine, Kerry Washington visiting Annenberg, Beyonce practising for the Super Bowl or festivals at university park (Yoo Hoo Air and Style) – shocking I know.

If one thing’s for sure, USC will always keep you entertained.

They say you can’t have it all, but we really do. Academics, sports, social: a school to be proud of and something to root for.

With a student population of 43,000 awesome people, SC will unite you with friends for life and memories to last forever.

So all that’s left to say; other than reiterating that we are the best university in the world, is this: Fight On SC.
