UNC fan threatens student protesters, shouts ‘I’ll kill him’
This is beyond not OK
Over this weekend, Silent Sam protesters were faced with verbal attacks from passerbys prior to the UNC v. Duke football game.
The Silent Sam Sit-In twitter account uploaded a video on Sunday evening documenting the exchange.
A fan, dressed in a UNC T-shirt and hat can be heard referring to a protester off-camera and saying: "I will kill him, he will be done".
The students remain calm throughout the exchange, calmly telling the aggressive fan to just "enjoy the game".
Students have been advocating for the removal of Silent Sam, a Confederate monument erected in 1913 during the Jim Crow era South for years.
Along with the Sit-In, students have been participating in Boycott UNC, which is scheduled to last until October 18th.
