UConn is one of the top 250 universities in the world

Last week the Center for World University Rankings released its list of the Top 1000 World Universities, listing UConn as 225th.

This score was determined by factoring in UConn’s:

  • Quality of education(25%)
  • Level of alumni employment(25%)
  • Quality of faculty (25%)
  • Number of publications (5%)
  • Influence (5%) (number of research papers appearing in highly-influential journals)
  • Citations (5%)
  • Broad Impact (5%) (defined as a university’s “h-index”)
  • Patents (5%) (international)

Harvard, Stanford, and MIT have taken spots one, two, and three respectively; with Chonqing Medical University, Northwest A&F University, and China Pharmaceutical University (all located in China) taking spots 998, 999, and 1000.

The CWUR has been publishing its ranking of world universities since 2012. UConn first made the list in 2014, taking rank #233.
