Temple students surprised by flooded streets this morning

Temple Owls really showed off their agility today

There really is no boring day at Temple University.

Around 9am, students on their way to class were jumping over large puddles to cross the streets from a water main break, which started from 13th and Norris streets, according to the TU Alert sent out this morning.  The water break was visible from Annenberg Hall all the way up to the Student Center.

According to the TU Alert, utility crews were already on their way to respond to the water break. But that didn’t stop the madness occurring beforehand.

What seemed like the entire Temple population in the area couldn’t help but to observe what was going on today.

Students who had classes at this time were either jumping the puddles or deciding to just walk all the way to the end of the street to reach their building. Some complained about ruined shoes or just having to deal with this on a sunny Wednesday morning.

Miranda Mathias, a speech pathology major, said, “I don’t have class till 10:40 and I’ve been waiting here to see what’s been going on since no one is telling us anything.”

She added, “It’s been interesting to see the agility of Temple Owls and seeing people get their shoes ruined.”
