Empower TU has won the TSG election

They won with 103 votes over Believe in TU

After days of campaigning around campus, Empower TU has won the vote to represent the student body next year.

Aron Cowen, the newly elected president, said winning was just the easy part today.

“I feel great with winning since we put in a huge amount of work, but just winning today was the easy part,” he told The Tab. “Our main goal is how we will work next year and encourage other students on campus to take part in Temple Student Government.”

Newly elected President, Aron Cowen, and Melonie Collado, the new Communications Director, react after winning this year’s election.

Empower TU plans to take on gender neutral housing, make monthly community forums and work to make textbooks more affordable. They are proud to have a diverse student body presence in TSG.

The election was a close one, with Empower TU winning with just 103 votes more than Believe in TU. All four tickets have been working hard to get students to vote this year and reached a whopping turnout of 4,112 less votes than last year’s 4,582 turnout, according to Temple Update.

Empower TU is excited to represent Temple University next year, and as Cowen eagerly says, they are encouraging students to take charge by applying to new spots in the Temple Student Government by sending in their resumés.
