Reports of gunman at Philadelphia Community College

Temple University Police say there’s no impact for us

The Community College of Philadelphia is currently on alert after reports of a gunman on campus.

The gunman was reported to have threatened another male inside Bonnell Building at 10 am this morning.

Nearby buildings and the neighboring high school are also on lockdown.

Temple University Police said the event is “not impacting our university at all” and as for whether or not safety precautions are being taken they said: “Not at this time.”

Temple student Jordan Gunselman turned on the news immediately after hearing about it.

She said: “It’s extremely disconcerting to be watching a serious lockdown happen so close to our school and not have gotten any alerts from our university.”

CBS confirmed police reported to the scene shortly after. No shots were fired and no one was injured.

According to ABC News, the armed man is about 5 foot 4 inches wearing a blue vest, red hoodie and grey sweat pants.

This follows the recent threat to Philadelphia area universities.
