Sugar, spice, and literally everything nice: We sat down with one of ‘Cuse’s sugar babies
She makes more money in an hour that most college students make in a week
Last week we told you about SeekingArrangment, the ultimate website for Sugar Babies who are looking to make an extra buck to feed their expensive habits or to pay for school. Syracuse University was ranked as one of the top schools in the nation for Sugar Babies. The Tab sat down with one of SU’s 141 students who are on the website to ask her some questions.
Hannah K., a 19-year-old economics major, found out about SA while she was a junior in high school. “I knew I was too young to join but I had read an article about it and thought it was genius.” She started sugaring last February after a bad breakup and “never looked back.”
Hannah has made $2,000 in the past few months
Hannah has been on coffee dates, dinners to fancy restaurants, and “was treated to a $475 massage at Mandarin Oriental just this winter break,” she told us. For each Starbucks date she goes on, she charges anywhere from $100 to $200 cash. “I’ve been gifted a $400 Saint Laurent necklace, high end sex toys, and dresses, but I prefer cash.” In the past 6 months alone, she has received nearly $2,000 from her Sugar Daddies.

Many of her friends at SU and at home don’t approve of her sugaring, claiming that she is degrading herself but Hannah thinks otherwise. “I’m using men instead of them using me, which has often been the case in my life,” she said. “I’m taking charge and putting myself first. I think of myself as an asset in a man’s already successful life.”
We asked Hannah if she has any advice for people who are unsure about sugaring. “Do your research! You can’t go into this prepared enough.” Hannah explained that sugaring is similar to roleplaying because you need to create a completely separate identity and keep your sugar life separate from your real life. “It’s kind of like acting in a play.” The best sources to prepare yourself are surprisingly two blogs on Tumblr: Adriana the Sugar Baby and Chubby Sugar Baby. She also says to keep yourself safe by always carrying pepper spray while on dates, letting your friends know where you are at all times, and being assertive.
As of right now, Hannah has no plans to stop sugaring. Who would when Syracuse’s cost of attendance is upwards of $69,000?
