Iran ban prevents Kyle Synder from wrestling

‘It would be a shame if we couldn’t go over and compete’

As a result of President Trump’s executive order, the country has banned wrestlers from the United States from competing in the freestyle World Cup. For Ohio State, this affects Logan Stieber, a former wrestler for the Buckeyes, and Kyle Snyder, current OSU wrestler and Olympic gold medalist.

In response, Snyder stated, “I think that the United States has one of the best teams in the world right now in wrestling, so it would be a shame if we couldn’t go over and compete.” He also said that USA Wrestling is “still hopeful that we would be able to go there or they would move the event to a different country.”

The team is supposed to leave for the tournament February 8th.
