The Union named one of the best college bars in America
Thrillist praised the bar as a a place you would go to make out with randos and possibly see Wiz Khalifa
Iowa City’s favorite sweat box, The Union, has been included in Thrillist’s “33 Best College Bars in America“.
The decidedly ratchet spot was recognized as the best place to go if you “feel like dancing” or “making out with some random person from your Sports Management class who is wearing a neon tank top”.
I think we can all agree with that one. We’ve all been that neon clad hussy.
Union has always been known the dancing place much thanks to it’s very own “twerk wall”. They even hosted I’m Shmacked there last year, and if Union was one of your friends you know it would be the hot mess who makes out with the frat guy.
Although the floors can get rather slippery (it’s hard to hold your drink and dance at the same time), Union has multiple spots to chill that make for a great time no matter what mood you’re in. They even have a top floor with a second bar and some dart machines in the front area.
Known as being “one of Iowa City’s longest running establishments”, I think we can all say Union deserves the recognition.
It’s better than Scummit anyway.
