The Fox Club has been shut down in an almighty row

The Grad Board ordered The Fox to close just a month after they agreed to go co-ed

Thinking about joining the ranks of T.S. Eliot and Bill Gates? You’ll now have to settle for less, because the Graduate Board of the historically male Fox has shut the club down.

All hell has broken loose at The Fox where the board of directors notified club affiliates about the closure.

This follows heated debates over the club’s future – just a month ago they decided to go co-ed after claiming Harvard “forced their hand”.

An email dated November 14th, seen by The Crimson, said: “In light of recent events involving conduct unbecoming [of] members of the Fox, the Board of Directors has closed the Club immediately until such time as it sees fit to reopen it, but not before January 1, 2016.”

The event originally scheduled for November 14th would be pushed back until after the club reopened.

This initiation would have been the first to include female members – but it’s still unclear if The Fox getting shut down is definitely because of the move to go co-ed.

This comes as The A.D. Club said they were “strongly” against membership changes, as 31 out of 36 undergrads voted to stay single sex late last month.
