Kappa Alpha Psi suspended after hazing allegations

A video shows brothers being hit with red and white canes

The FSU chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is now suspended due to a hazing investigation against the fraternity.

The WCTV station received an email containing photos and videos of members of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at Florida State purportedly hazing soon-to-be brothers in 2013.

The sender of the email, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she was “tired of staying quiet” about the hazing on campus and was concerned. In the videos you can hear and see brothers being beaten with a red and white cane on the posterior. Video also shows some of the canes breaking after striking the students.

Florida State Police confirmed they are investigating the allegations.

Kappa Psi is the third fraternity at Florida State to have been accused of hazing allegations. Tau Kappa Epsilon along with Omega Psi Phi have both been investigated for hazing; both were also suspended.
