Gainesville is coming in clutch again by making it legal for passengers to consume alcohol while in cars for hire, including Uber and Lyft.
Taxis and limousines were the only cars in which open containers of alcohol were previously allowed, but after a recent city commission meeting, an ordinance allowing passengers to bring and consume alcohol while en route was passed.
College students all over Gainesville can now take that much needed shot while waiting in traffic trying to get to mid.
Just don’t spill it in the car.
