BREAKING: BUPD release video of Neo-Nazi poster suspect

They are asking for the community to help identify him

The suspect responsible for the distribution of hateful Nazi posters during last weekend was caught on camera. Boston University Police released the video this morning, asking for help to identify the suspect.

According to BU Today, “the video was taken by surveillance cameras at Yawkey Center of Student Services at 100 Bay State Road.”

In the video, the suspect walked past the entrance of Yawkey Center, turned back, and hesitated for a short period of time before putting the posters on the door.

The suspect was wearing a black, hooded jacket, and khaki pants.

BUPD Detective Lieutenant Peter DiDomenica says the suspect faces charges of defacing private property.

The posters, also found in front of FitRec and inside of Warren Towers, contain hateful comments like “Black Lives Don’t Matter” and encourages students to “Join Your Local Nazis.”

The posters were signed by Iron March, a “Global Fascist Fraternity” whose website “encourages people to register so they [can] interact with, quote ‘fellow fascists’ by simply clicking on a swastika.”

A supposed spokesperson for the thread took responsibility for the posters on Monday claimed to Metro that the student who put them up was in fact a BU student.

BUPD ask the community if they can identify the suspect, or provide any relevant information, to contact BUPD at 617-353-3436 or via email at [email protected]. Alternatively they can text anonymous tips to 847411. Type in “BU,” a space, then your message.
