Halloween fire at Myles leaves students out in the cold

They were just trying to make popcorn

Last night the residents of Myles Standish Hall were woken up by the fire alarm around 2am.

The incident happened on the second floor of the dorm and was apparently caused by some hungry Halloween-ers trying to make a tasty treat.

When they left the popcorn for too long, it burned and caused the fire, leaving the entire hall outside for 20 minutes.

After the flames were put out the crowd was let back into Myles but the result of the unexpected Friday morning remains in the air.

Rachel,  a Behavior and Health major who lives in the dorm said it now “reeks of burnt popcorn” and is “super gross and overpowering.”
