The TV legend Louis Theroux was papped filming a new documentary in the Liverpool grocery store earlier today.

He arrived this morning at the supermarket and was seen chatting to staff and shoppers and posing for photos. He then moved to the cafe in the mezzanine of the shop to continue filming.

The award-winning documentary maker, known for TV series including Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, and When Louis Met, was apparently shooting footage about mental health.

Sassy as fuck, Independent Liverpool

Liverpudlians and students alike took to Twitter at the news with most moaning about missing Louis on his first (and probably last) visit to The Asda on Smithdown Road.

Emily, a second year Anatomy student, couldn’t believe Louis had visited Smithdown: “I bloody love him. I’m gutted. I didn’t know he was here, otherwise I would have gone and got a picture.”

Josh, a second year Biomedicine student, had similar feelings about missing out on meeting the legend of Theroux: “Fucks sake, can’t believe I missed him. What a guy.”
