For vintage lovers… the Little Red Vintage £5 extravaganza

Kate O’Keeffe headed down to Little Red Vintage to peruse their £5 sales and is here to share her favourite finds with us…

Among the many eclectic shops that line Bold Street, Little Red Vintage definitely holds its own. They’ve been open for five years, and they really know the difference between great vintage and what is just a moth-eaten cardigan, and their amazing stock highlights this.

On Saturday, they held a £5 day – yep, everything just a fiver. We went down to see what all the fuss was about.

I got there about 10.05AM (thanks Arriva) and expected it to be busy, but I did not anticipate the crowds that I was met with. I had to queue to get through the door – girls bedecked in all manner of clothing, from someone in a long velvet frock, to a herd of sheepskin jacketed ladies, all who waited outside patiently in the dashing rain to get their hands on the vintage treasures inside.

It was absolutely heaving, but had a really good atmosphere – the rails and rails of vintage bargains, the cute décor and old-school Beyonce blasting over the speakers made for a perfect shopping experience.

There were rows and rows of vintage bargains,  and something for everyone’s taste. Even I – a self-professed vintage virgin – found myself gazing longingly at many of the cute little tea dresses and amazing coats.

I definitely did not need another black and white jacket – but hey, it was only a fiver

It was all extremely organised, which made for easier shopping than you might expect in a small shop full of bargain hunters – separate rails specifically for knitwear, skirts, dresses, shorts, and everything in between.

So many clothes, so much temptation

The best find of the day were the reams of real Levis shorts, all for a fiver! There was something for every vintage fanatic, from the 60s hippy to the 90s grunge gal.

Peace and love y’all

The staff were extremely helpful and kept their cool, despite the madness around them. They seem to truly know their vintage – anybody can see this by looking at their Facebook page – outfit suggestions galore!

With the success of their Everything £5 Days and their kilo sales which they have every couple of months, the store is definitely a major destination on Liverpool’s style map. They predict bigger things happening in their future, so watch this space.
