Red alert: Police chase on campus
Bystanders watch in shock as a man is chased and arrested outside the design building
Maxine SeneShocked students witnessed what seemed like a scene out of an action film this afternoon when Lincoln police launched a chase of a suspected criminal on foot through campus.
English and Drama third-year Harriet Haynes said: “ We were walking on the bridge towards the business building we heard sirens and a middle aged man ran by us carrying a small dark blue bag.
“He said something along the lines of ‘they’re here’ and ran through the crowd of people at uni. The police car pulled up and a policeman got out and chased him. “
The middle aged man was chased and stopped outside the university’s design building.
After two more policemen showed up on the scene the man was handcuffed and put into the police car.
Third year Drama student, Mollie Simpkins said: “He looked harmless apart from the fact he was running”
