Edinburgh ranked sixth best British university in new global rankings

St Andrews was nowhere to be seen

In the latest university rankings released today by The Times, Edinburgh University has been placed sixth best in the UK for 2018.

Edinburgh was beaten to the top spots by the usual contenders, with Oxford and Cambridge taking first and second place.

Imperial College London, UCL, and LSE followed them in third, fourth and fifth.

The rankings of Scottish unis on the whole was few and far between, with Glasgow taking 10th place, followed by St Andrews only just making the top 20.

This will come as no shock to Edi students that we’ve beaten Glasgow and St Andrews, but it does come as a reassurance that we’ve got this one up on our rivals before the eagerly awaited annual Varsity Match later this month.
