You spend long, sunny months stuck between four walls selling products to people having a better time than you. Then, before you know it, it’s time for a new term and you’ve barely spent five minutes perfecting your tan or having cocktails with your mates.

There are seven job types available this summer – here’s a quick rundown:
Cleaning
As Birmingham 2022 strives to deliver a safe and successful Games, it’s so important all the venues and athlete villages are kept clean. Keeping everything fresh and hygienic for the athletes and officials will help them perform to the best of their abilities.

Catering
Caterers will be responsible for fuelling the Games by feeding everyone involved – but no need to brush up on your baking skills before you go as you’ll receive all the training you need. You’ll be serving food to 6,500 athletes and officials, as well as the Games workforce and over 1 million spectators. That’s a lot of meals!

Housekeeping
House mums and dads – this is your time to shine. As well as cleaning staff, the housekeeping team are also responsible for keeping venues and villages well organised. Making sure everyone’s having a good Games experience is the number one priority for all.

Retail
You’ll be handling spectator ticket enquiries and selling the Games’ fantastic Birmingham 2022 merchandise. The retail team plays a key role in creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Security
One of the most important roles is to make sure the Games are safe. As a member of the security team, you’ll be making sure each event runs incident-free. You’ll be stationed at all venues, maintaining secure perimeters and effective management of pedestrian and vehicle access.

Event Stewarding
If you’re outgoing, sociable and proactive – this one’s for you. Stewards are the main point of interaction between spectators and events, so you’ll be right in the middle of the action. Your role is key for making things as easy for spectators as possible and ensuring everyone enjoys their experience.

Transport
You’ll help to manage traffic, parking facilities and client transport. You’re responsible for making sure vehicles get to the right place at the right time – which is super important for keeping Birmingham 2022 ticking along.
