Shelley and James’ relationship had so much messy drama before Love on the Spectrum

James and Shelley were briefly shown during last season of Love on the Spectrum, but this season the pair have made their official debut as a couple on the show.

Whilst they’re in a very strong place now, and are even looking at places to move in together, the start of their relationship was actually very fraught with a lot of drama. So, let’s get into all the mess that we never got to see unfold on Love on the Spectrum.

Shelley revealed that the ‘intimate’ song she thought James wrote about her was actually written for another woman

For some context, a clip of James singing a song called Heavy Metal Queen, was featured at the end of the last season Love on the Spectrum, with the assumption being that the song was written for Shelley.

However, Shelley then revealed that she discovered the song was in fact not written with her in mind, explaining that the “timelines did not add up” and added that “being called Heavy Metal Queen just reopens that wound.”

She explained the situation in a statement on her Instagram: “Please stop calling me Heavy Metal Queen. James first read that poem on a date in June, right in front of me, and for a long time, I truly believed it was about me.

“I thought that because it was shared so intimately, it must have been written with me in mind.

“But eventually, the timelines did not add up, and it hurt to realize it was never really about me. It was interchangeable, and that is why I want to forget about it.

“Every day, logging into social media and being called Heavy Metal Queen just reopens that wound.”

James then responded and confirmed that the song hadn’t been written about her

James responded: “I would like to remind everyone that I did not actually write ‘Heavy Metal Queen’ about @shelley.wolfee, but I definitely love her, very much, as she is the most important person in the world, to me.

“I love her more than anyone or anything else, and she is very special to me, so I definitely express my feelings and affection for her in other ways!”

Shelley claimed that she and James met before filming started for Love on the Spectrum started, and he ‘never told her he was seeing other people’

Shelley exposed the truth when someone asked her on TikTok about the timeline of when she and James started dating during Love on the Spectrum season three.

They asked: “Shelley, can you clarify when you and James started dating? If it was before the show, why was he still going on dates? Just wondering, and you’re great together!”

Shelley then shockingly claimed that she and James started dating before the new season of Love on the Spectrum started filming, and he “never told her” he was seeing other people on the show.

She responded: “We started dating before the show, and he never told me was seeing other people. He was inviting me to everything. I still have not watched season three because it breaks my heart just thinking about it.”
