Drawn Together cast addresses whether Marfil and Sebastián end up together after that ending

The ending of Prime Video’s new romantic thriller Drawn Together changes everything, and now the cast and creator have addressed whether Marfil and Sebastián end up together.

For most of the Drawn Together film, Marfil Cortés believes she is being protected by Sebastián Moore, the bodyguard her father hires after her mysterious kidnapping. But the closer they get, though, the more secrets start coming out. And the person Marfil thought she could trust most turns out to be hiding one of the biggest secrets of all. Sebastián was actually an FBI agent who had been involved in her kidnapping.

And just when it looks like their relationship could be over for good, Marfil is kidnapped again by Kozel.

So, do Marfil and Sebastián actually end up together?

By the end of the first film, Marfil and Sebastián are not officially back together. They have already admitted their feelings for each other before Marfil discovers that Sebastián was involved in her kidnapping. So, although she still loves him, she hasn’t simply forgiven him.

Ester Expósito, who plays Marfil, confirmed this when asked whether her character had forgiven Sebastián. “No, I think she hasn’t,” Expósito told Swooon. “But her love for him is above everything. It’s always gonna have more weight [and] be heavier than everything else.”

Then, Marfil is supposed to be going into witness protection with her family in Buenos Aires, so she thinks she may never see Sebastián again. Sebastián, however, doesn’t trust the situation. He gives Marfil a tiny microphone and tells her to use a code word if she is in danger.

But before he can reach her, the family’s butler betrays them and delivers Marfil to Kozel. And the film ends with Marfil and Sebastián separated.

Will Marfil and Sebastián be together in the sequel?

The sequel, Drawn Apart, is expected to continue their relationship, although it sounds like things are going to get much darker before they get better. Hugo Diego Garcia explained that Sebastián’s main priority is now rescuing Marfil rather than simply trying to repair their relationship.

He said, “It’s more about saving her, trying to get together again, than to win her back. It’s about survival now. It’s not about… love comes behind because, well, you need to be alive to be able to love.”

And Marfil’s feelings are going to be complicated too. Mercedes Ron, who wrote the Enfrentados books that the films are based on, teased, “She’s gonna have mixed feelings about Sebastián. But I don’t want to make a spoiler. She loves him so much. So at the end, love always wins.”
