Despite rumours that Lilly Jay and Ethan Slater may have rekindled their relationship following the latter’s split from Ariana Grande, sources have made it clear where the pair stand. Ethan and Ariana met in 2022 when they began working on the first Wicked film adaptation. At that time, the Glinda star was married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez, while the Boq actor was married to therapist Lilly Jay. In July 2023, Ethan separated from Lilly, while news emerged that Ariana had also split from Dalton months prior. She went on to write a powerful essay about the public nature of her divorce for The Cut. A few months after Wicked: For Good, Ethan and Ariana broke up, as was revealed in June this year. Although Ethan and Lilly maintained a co-parenting relationship, the past week has seen speculation that they are back together. But sources close to Lilly have now shut down the rumours. Speaking to TMZ, the insider said the pair are “absolutely not” reconciling in a romantic way, and that their relationship will remain as a co-parenting one for their now-three-year-old child. The news arrives as Ariana’s team is facing intense scrutiny over her new music video for ‘Petal’. Although the singer was set to appear alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey in a West End revival of the musical Sunday in the Park with George, she has now dropped out.
