Now, insiders claiming to be close to the couple have told Page Six the details of their relationship. Allegedly, cracks had been showing since Christmas last year, when Ariana was on Saturday Night Live. Many people who were on set during the dress rehearsals claimed that there was shock when Ethan Slater arrived. The sold-out arena show includes 31 shows across the United States alone, before she tours Canada and the United Kingdom. Another insider, who has allegedly regularly worked with Ariana in the entertainment industry, claims she can be a bit “needy” in relationships – something she herself admits in her song of the same name. “As a professional, Ari’s good to work with; she’s so talented. As a human, she can be…needy,” they claimed. Another person shut down the cheating rumours around the start of the relationship. Controversially, Ethan Slater left his long-term partner and mother of his child, Lily Jay, right before his relationship with Ariana started. There has been lots of speculation about the timeline, but sources close to the singer said there was no cheating involved.
