Woman claims Jared Leto repeatedly asked one explicit question during ‘strange’ phone calls

A woman who accuses Jared Leto of inappropriate behaviour when she was 16 years old claims the actor was “obsessed” with one particular sexual act, according to a new BBC documentary.

Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret dropped on BBC iPlayer today, featuring interviews with four women who accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct when they were teens.

The investigation spoke to 10 women in total, detailing encounters spanning 2002 to 2016, when Leto, now 54, was in his 30s and 40s. 

Etta, whose name has been changed, was 16 years old in 2014, when she allegedly met the Hollywood actor in LA after walking into a modelling agency. 

“He hung up the phone and walked right in behind us,” she says. “He brought up that he had won a major award,” referring to the Oscar he won for his supporting role in Dallas Buyers Club. 

“He was like, ‘Oh yeah, you’re going to get signed. Definitely. You’re so beautiful.’ And he asked for my email so he could invite me and my mum to his Oscar party… I was 16 at the time and he was 42.”

Etta claims Leto did email her, and it “very quickly” turned into sexual conversations on the phone where he said things that “you shouldn’t say to a child.”

Elaborating later in the doc, she says his first email was just an invitation to the party. Etta replied saying she couldn’t make it but she was sure it was fun, to which he allegedly replied, “It was. Text me,” alongside his number. 

When asked if he knew she was 16, she claims if not at the beginning, he definitely knew after they started texting, which soon progressed to phone calls. 

“He never would call me without making it a private number. I think he did his best to make sure there was no proof,” she says. 

“At first it was like, ‘Who did you sign with? How did it go?’ But it quickly moved into, ‘Oh are you a virgin? Do you have any kinks? What are you interested in? Can you squirt?’ He seemed very interested in squirting.

“He did at least once mention him and I having sex at some point… I remember feeling nervous, a little anxious, a little uncomfortable. But at the time I remember I had a really hard time saying no to things and putting boundaries up.”

Etta alleges that Leto asked if he could pass her number on to someone else, saying it was a “business thing”. She agreed and began getting calls from someone who went by “Christian.”

“He wanted to hire me to shoot p*rn. And he was like, ‘It doesn’t matter if you’re underage. We’ll work it out. We’ll get a really nice house in the hills. We’ll have six guys in the shower and have them c*m all over you.’

“Because he would also call me from a private number, I wouldn’t know sometimes if it was going to be Jared or him.”

The interviewer asks if there were similarities between what Leto and Christian were saying, to which Etta responds, “They both were obsessed with mentioning the possibility of squirting.”

She clarifies that it “wouldn’t be that surprising” if it turned out that the calls were both from Leto. 

The BBC’s investigation found Etta to be one of five women who allegedly received “strange calls” from Leto, four of whom were teenagers at the time. 

Jared Leto has not responded to the allegations despite repeated attempts to contact him. Film Shrine has reached out to his reps for comment.
