*Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Boys season five finale* Elon Musk and The Boys is not the crossover we expected, but it’s the one we got. After Musk shared a one-word response to Homelander’s fate in the season five finale, showrunner Eric Kripke has now responded. Homelander finally gets his comeuppance in season five episode eight, ‘Blood and Bone’, when Kimiko depowers him, paving the way for Butcher to ram a crowbar through his head. Lovely. It’s no secret that the past two seasons have shifted towards a satirical take on modern politics, with many perceiving Homelander to be a direct parody of Trump. Pathetic — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 21, 2026 The finale also appeared to fire shots at Musk via the character Gunter Van Ellis – he’s the world’s richest man, has 17 kids, and is an amateur astronaut. It’s not hard to connect the dots. It’s unclear whether Musk has caught wind of this, but he has responded to a post from conservative influencer Kangmin Lee. Lee shared side-by-side shots of the moment a bloody Homelander begs Butcher to spare his life, offering to ‘suck his d*ck’ or ‘eat his sh*t’. “The show writers turned Homelander into a Trump analogue, and this is how they choose to end The Boys,” Lee wrote. “This entire show was just a deranged sexual humiliation fantasy projected onto Trump. They can’t even produce a decent superhero parody without injecting their twisted fetishes into every script.” Credit: Amazon Studios Just for context, it was Starr who wrote those final lines, with Kripke explaining, “He suggested the line, ‘I’ll eat your sh*t on live TV.’ I think he really wanted to dig into what a mess Homelander was.” Musk replied to Lee’s post with one word: “Pathetic.” Now, Kripke himself has replied to Musk’s appraisal of Homelander’s ending, and he’s pretty stoked. “OMG this is his review of what @TheBoysTV did to Homelander, I’ll never get a better review ever,” he wrote. On the other end of the scale, one Redditor said, “In the finale, a billionaire who looks exactly like Musk approaches Homelander in the Oval Office and wants to talk about white birth rates. Homelander finds him annoying and leaves him in space. “Yeah, I can see why that hurt Musk’s feelings.” “It’s not even a parody, just straight up an adaptation,” wrote another, while a third added, “Also, Homelander after throwing him to space. ‘He wanted to be an astronaut’.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
