Nicki Minaj was already facing backlash for her unexpected alliance with MAGA and Donald Trump. But now she’s found herself in a rather bizarre row with the creator of Chucky, all thanks to a post about the US midterm elections. The 2026 midterms saw Democrats win back control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, dealing a major blow to Trump’s Republican Party. The results have sparked a huge reaction across the US, with Trump blaming fellow Republicans for the losses. Prior to the results, Minaj pulled a classic MAGA move – using AI to hijack someone else’s intellectual property for political propaganda. We’ve seen similar moves many times over, for instance, when Spider-Man: Brand New Day was used to promote ICE. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The White House (@whitehouse) More recently, the White House shared an AI-generated image showing Trump and senior administration officials as characters from One Piece. And yesterday, ahead of the results, Minaj posted an AI image of Chucky, the iconic killer doll from the Child’s Play horror franchise. In her image, Chucky is shown using a phone to cast his vote from a gold and pink office tower. He’s wearing a pink suit and a badge that says, “Vote Red.” Alongside the image, the rapper wrote, “HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!” This alone received plenty of backlash online, with many joking, “Everyone knows Chucky votes blue b*tch. So does Tiffany.” IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION — Don Mancini (@RealDonMancini) November 4, 2026 But now, Don Mancini – the actual creator of Child’s Play – has chimed in. And he definitely does not support Nicki’s message. Taking to the comments section, he wrote, “IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION.” Don by name, Don by nature. And if that weren’t enough, after the results came in, he posted a real photo of a Chucky doll with blue hair. “Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way! #bluewave,” he quipped. Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way! #bluewave pic.twitter.com/XFpRdjsR9k — Don Mancini (@RealDonMancini) November 4, 2026 Plenty of fans have responded to his post, with one writing, “Don that’s why we love you.” Another said, “We all know blue is his colour,” while a third added, “You’re too real for this.” Nicki hasn’t posted since the Chucky pic, so we’ll have to wait and see if she responds to Don.
