He explained, “As any actor my age will tell you, there are fewer and fewer available roles as we get older. That being said, I still continue to receive interesting offers. And I love being challenged by new work, like voicing a pig’s head in Riz Ahmed’s brilliant new series Bait.” He added, “I can’t imagine ever officially ‘retiring.’ I’ll always and forever be an actor.” This wasn’t actually the first time Sir Patrick had spoken about retirement. During a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, the actor said, “I thought I’d be retired [by now]. It just hasn’t happened.” He also revealed that he and his wife, singer Sunny Ozell, had discussed the possibility of eventually slowing down. “I’m looking forward to it very much,” he said when discussing the idea of taking a break. But he also joked, “Although, my wife believes I’ll tolerate it for about two weeks. Then I’ll be calling my agent.” Sir Patrick also said, “I used to think somebody will have to drag me off the stage or away from the cameras. But I see the little signs that will lead me there at some point.” He added, “But I’m going to hang in as long as it makes sense.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
