People are already picking apart this one detail about Steve Rogers in Marvel’s new Avengers: Doomsday footage, and it’s actually bad once you notice it. The new TV spot features Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers for the first time since Avengers: Endgame in 2019. But people have spotted a pretty noticeable difference in his appearance compared to the first trailer, and it’s got everyone wondering what’s actually going on. So, what’s changed? Credit: Marvel In the footage, Steve appears aboard the Fantastic Four’s spaceship, where he reunites with Thor. He even calls Mjolnir to him, proving he’s still worthy of wielding the hammer. Now, if you look closer, you can see that Steve’s nose and hairline appear different between the original trailer and the latest TV spot. Basically, it looks as though Marvel Studios might have used visual effects to tweak Chris Evans’ face. It is a very subtle change, so you might have to squint. Marvel fans on Twitter have been pointing out the differences, with one asking, “Is it just me, or did they change Chris Evans’s nose and hairline?” Another wrote, “I’m sorry they be fixing the hairline in post” Someone else said, “They had added more hair to the sides and the nose is slightly more pointed down”. I get fixing the wig but why his nose? 😭 https://t.co/IaW7cScaxO — Jake | A Cool Youth Pastor | #BridgerBrigade (@VigilantesSaber) October 26, 2026 Obviously we don’t know if that’s actually what happened, so it could also be because of different lighting, camera angles or reshoots. But as soon as people noticed the difference, theories started going around. One theory is that Loki could be disguised as Steve Rogers, which would obviously make his return a lot more complicated than it first appears. There’s also another thing that Chris Evans is now seven years older than he was when he filmed Avengers: Endgame, so Marvel might simply want Steve to look closer to how he appeared back in 2019. Also, the images from the trailer and TV spot appear to have been filmed or edited from slightly different angles. That alone can change how someone’s face looks on screen, particularly around the nose and hairline. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
