The Boys’ Karen Fukuhara, who has played Kimiko since season one, has been branded “tone deaf” for getting a matching tattoo with Frenchie’s actor, Tomer Capone. Sharing a bunch of pictures and videos from an ink session last year, Kimiko’s actress detailed why she got a matching tattoo with her The Boys co-star. She explained: “Last June, in the middle of filming the final season of The Boys, Tomer and I flew to LA for a quick 48 hours for a convention appearance. “We had been talking about getting matching tattoos to commemorate our time on the show as Kimiko and Frenchie, and somehow, in the late hours of the night, @_dr_woo_ made time for us and made it happen. He was so patient with us the whole time, even with our crazy schedule, and this honestly became one of my favourite core memories with Tomer. It really felt like the two of us were on a real Kimiko and Frenchie excursion, sneaking away on some little mission of our own. Thank you so much, Woo, for making this happen. I’ll never forget this special day.” Credit: Amazon Studios The tattoo itself showed a heart with Frenchie’s iconic “Mon coeur” line above it, and more text underneath. Though undoubtedly cute ink, and you can’t slight Karen Fukuhara for wanting to commemorate her time on the show, in light of Tomer Capon’s resurfaced past, people are angry. Why are people angry about Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capone’s matching tattoos? When season five of The Boys kicked off, Tomer Capone’s previous life in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) resurfaced online. Born in Holon, Israel, but raised in Rishon LeZion, Tomer Capone was conscripted to the IDF in 2004, and he was later promoted to squad leader for the 2006 Lebanon war. In a 2016 interview with the Israeli press, he admitted to taking a young woman from her home in the middle of the night. “In the middle of the night, you enter a family’s house, you’re not aggressive, but the family doesn’t let you get their 18-year-old daughter out easily, and a fight starts. Pushing, cursing, and we tear her apart and drive off,” he recalled to Ynet. Her eyes are of course covered with flannel. I bring her into the room, put her in and see eight other girls inside who look more or less the same. And they close the door in your face.” Elsewhere in the interview, he described cruel “pranks” soldiers played on people. In one instance, “someone is transporting fruit, so you disassemble his entire truck and you cut open all of his watermelons, just for fun.” His more recent interviews were not much better, with Tomer telling Deadline in 2024: “Of course, when people ask me, of course it’s about freeing Palestine but free Palestine from what? Free Palestine from terror, free Palestine from Hamas – yes. But the same goes for Israel. Free Israel from all of the extremist, weird people that are trying to take over my beautiful country.” What The Boys fans are saying about Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capone’s tattoo It’s not massively surprising that the tattoo has gone viral in the worst way, with one person writing on Twitter: “Girl, are we deadass.” “Yasss matching tattoos with an IDF soldier,” another said, as a third added, “Would be cute if it wasn’t Mr IDF.” Karen.. https://t.co/GCL6JgbJX1 pic.twitter.com/Wx6VJLFUJk — A-Train | Gen V🥀 (@LeftMyHeartOnD) May 18, 2026 Even Karen Fukuhara’s Instagram comments are a mess, with another disgruntled viewer adding: “Matching tattoos with an IDF soldier is a choice.” “Girl, read the room,” another said, as someone else simply replied with a picture of Benjamin Netanyahu.
