Rivals season two has officially landed on Disney+ and Hulu. We’ll have 12 more episodes about the posh people of Rutshire’s many scandals. Alex Hassell’s character Rupert Campbell-Black has already hooked up with half the characters, but who does he end up with? If you lack the patience to wait for the season’s finale (and you lack the time to read 11 Jilly Cooper books), then here’s the answer to who Rupert Campbell-Black ends up with in Rivals. Yes, Rupert Campbell-Black gets married at the end of Rivals Amazingly, Rupert Campbell-Black does eventually settle down with one person. Much of season one the Rivals TV show focused on his relationship with Cameron. However, their relationship doesn’t work out in Jilly Cooper’s original 1988 book. Rupert falls for an even younger woman, with an even more inappropriate connection to his colleagues. Huzzah! RUN(Image via Disney+) Yup, the naïve 20-year-old girl Taggie gets married to her father’s much older, much more powerful co-worker who sexually assaulted her. I am not making this up. Although Taggie and Rupert’s relationship may have been the stuff of dreams for Jilly Cooper’s fanbase in the 1980s, it’ll haunt the nightmares of anybody reading Rivals in 2026. Rupert proposes to Taggie in the very last chapter of the book Rivals. The story ends with her dad Declan having to awkwardly explain to the bishop of Cotchester Cathedral that she’s marrying Rupert. The Disney+ TV show aged up Taggie, so she’s 20 when the story begins. The actor Bella Maclean is actually 28. However, in the book, she’s only 18. Rupert Campbell-Black is literally twice her age, at 36. Taggie and Rupert’s relationship lasts for the whole book series If he has no haters, I am dead, and you should check under his patio(Image via Disney+) Jilly Cooper churned out another nine books after Rivals in the Rutshire Chronicles, so we know exactly how Taggie and Rupert’s marriage works out. They adopt two children called Xavier and Bianca. (Rupert has three additional children with other women.) In a later book, Mount!, Rupert travels the world racing horses. He and Taggie grow apart. While Taggie undergoes treatment for breast cancer, Rupert has an affair with his much younger employee. Wow, what a guy! Taggie also cheats on him. By the end of the last book, Tackle!, Rupert and Taggie are still married and apparently happy together. Erm, okay. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
