In season three episode four of Euphoria, we met a new character called Kitty. She’s a dancer working alongside Rue at Alamo’s strip club. I’m afraid the actor who plays Kitty in Euphoria is very much a nepo baby. Wow, what a surprise. N.B. This actor was amazing in Euphoria season three, including in some very intense scenes. Of course, plenty of people develop interests in their relatives’ passions, and many children become skilled at the same things as their parents. It’s just a bit jarring that when gazillions of wonderful performers out there are desperate for their big breaks, a sizeable chunk of roles seem go to the handful of people whose parents are already huge in Hollywood. Wait, who plays Kitty in Euphoria season three? The Euphoria character Kitty is portrayed by the actor Anna Van Patten. Her mum is the model Wendy Rossmeyer Van Patten. Her dad is the very accomplished film director Tim Van Patten. He started off by acting in various drama shows in the 1970s and 1980s, then transitioned to the other side of the camera. Tim Van Patten has directed episodes of many huge HBO shows such as Game of Thrones, Rome, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and The Wire. Oh, and he’s won two Emmys. Her older sister Grace began her acting career aged eight with a small role in The Sopranos. More recently, she starred in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. Anna alongside our queen Zendaya in Euphoria(Image via HBO) Anna is the niece of the prolific actor Joyce Van Patten. Her husband Martin Balsam was an actor. Their daughter Talia Balsam is also an actor (and used to be married to George Clooney). Anna’s uncle Dick Van Patten was known for playing Tom Bradford on Eight Is Enough (well, known among people under 50). All three of his sons are… you guessed it… actors. Anna’s dad has been very supportive of her career She told The Hollywood Reporter her dad would take her along to sets of projects he was part of. “Visiting sets was my favourite thing. He would bring us and say, ‘Go explore, do your thing.’ And we’d go on these sets of ancient Rome or the 1920s and just kind of play around. “Even just watching movies with my dad is so educational. He gets so excited when we put on an old movie and he’s like, ‘This was shot like this and that was shot like that.’ It’s so fun.” We’re four episodes in, and Rue is finally registering that maybeeeee this isn’t the healthiest work environment(Image via HBO) He let her “arrange all of the dismembered body parts found in the woods after the White Walkers” in the Game of Thrones pilot. Woah, what a flex. She continued: “My dad helps me with my audition tapes all the time. He’ll get all excited about the camera angles and movements.” You might have spotted Anna in other TV shows She played her sister’s character’s sister (you with me?) in The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox. Anna also appeared in that Gossip Girl reboot as Grace Byron. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
