Here’s the low-key iconic reason Halle Berry posted *that* filthy video with her boyfriend

‘And we’re about to give it a spin’

Right after being slammed by prudes over her Met Gala outfit, Halle Berry incited pushback on Twitter on Mother’s Day when she posted a video in bed with her boyfriend, Van Hunt, and a bottle of Let’s Spin gel.

“So I told y’all how my day started. How my Mother’s Day started. And now I’m gonna tell you about, I’m not going to show you, I’m gonna tell you about how my Mother’s Day is gonna end. You know, ain’t that right, babe?” she chuckled as Van Hunt cheekily replied, “Yeah, I wish you’d hurry up too.”

In a product placement moment, she then raised a bottle of Let’s Spin gel and added: “First of all, we got our Let’s Spin because Let’s Spin just came out in this cute little travel size and so since we’re in Cannes, France I traveled with it for the first time. And we’re about to give it a spin.”

It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to pick up what Halle Berry, Van Hunt, and that innocent bottle of Let’s Spin were putting down, but people were shocked by how open they were about it. It has since amassed 25 million views and literally hundreds of comments.

“Did not expect to end my day with Halle Berry telling the world she’s gonna get put through the mattress on this app,” one person wrote.

“You’re too old for this type of videos, ma’am,” another rudely said, as someone else wrote, “WHAT THE HALLE BERRY!”

What is Let’s Spin, and how is it connected to Halle Berry

The video left me, and many others, with an overwhelming sense of confusion. She had every right to post the cheeky video, but I couldn’t help but wonder why. Then it clicked – by clicked I mean I Googled it – Let’s Spin is Halle Berry’s own brand of lube. Nothing like a bit of shameless self-plugging, you’ve got to respect it.

Back in 2020, Halle Berry launched Respin, a platform dedicated to wellness and specifically women’s health, longevity, and obstacles posed by menopause. It’s basically like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, only less pretentious. It currently sells an intimate wellness device with red light, the Let’s Spin intimacy gel, and a brand new travel size.

According to the site, Halle Berry’s Let’s Spin gel is packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid, soothing aloe vera, citric acid, and gluconolactone. The reviews are pretty solid, but if it’s good enough for Halle Berry, it should probably be good enough for us mere mortals too.
