People have spotted a massive error in The Grinch that somehow went unnoticed
How did they not realise?!
You’ve probably seen How the Grinch Stole Christmas so many times over the years, but I bet you’ve never noticed this error.
The Dr. Suess story is about the green character who hates Christmas but has his opinion changed by a little girl called Cindy Lou Who.
People have spotted a massive mistake in the 2000 film starring Jim Carrey, and once you’ve seen it, you can’t unsee it!
In one of the scenes where The Grinch is inside his mountainside cave, his contact lenses aren’t in for a split second.
The green character usually has piercing yellow eyes, but you can see Jim Carrey’s real, deep brown eyes in the scene.
He literally looks directly at the camera too, so it’s really obvious. In the next clip, his eyes are then yellow again.

@ooitshollieee Found a Continuity Error in The Grinch that I’ve never noticed before. Now I was to rewatch it and see how many times this happened! 😳 #TheGrinch #Grinch #easteregg #continuityerror #error #movieerrors
People can’t believe they’ve never noticed the error, with one person writing on TikTok: “I JUST SCREAMED I NEVER SAW THIS AHAHAH.”
“I’ve watched the Grinch so many times and never noticed this 😂,” said another.
Jim Carrey once revealed that the makeup was like being “buried alive” and he had to learn how to ensure torture to shoot the movie.
“Literally the makeup was like being buried alive everyday. I went back to my trailer and put my leg through the wall, and I told [director] Ron Howard I couldn’t do the movie,” he said on The Graham Norton Show.
“Then [producer] Brian Grazer came in, and being the fix-it man, came up with a brilliant idea to hire a gentleman who is trained to teach CIA operatives how to endure torture. And so that’s how I got through The Grinch.”
