Makai Mason declaring for NBA draft

He scored 31 points against Baylor

Point Guard Makai Mason has been called everything from “a surfer dude” to “the choir boy who mows your lawn”.

But this season he has proven to be the athletic hero Yale has been waiting for, leading Men’s Basketball team to March Madness and scoring 31 points in the upset against Baylor.

In the wake of his success, Makai has decided to declare for the NBA draft, taking advantage of the new draft rules that allow players to see where they are projected to be chosen and decide to return to school if they wish.

“We want to take advantage of that new rule, show people beyond the Ivy League what he’s capable of,” Makai’s father, Dan Mason, told Sports Illustrated.
