Yale junior James Randon smashes four minute mile

He did it in 3:58

Junior James Randon enters the track and field hall of fame today having run the mile in under four minutes.

On the final day of the IC4A Championship, he smashed the mile in 3:58.85, breaking a new Yale indoor record and marking the first ever sub-4:00 mile in the history of Yale Track and Field.

He said: “The four-minute barrier has been something I’ve been hoping to break. I couldn’t have been happier with my final race of the season.”
