I have listened to my Chicago-native friends go on and on about Portillo's. They painted me vivid pictures of Chicago-style hot dogs and chocolate cake shakes. Thankfully, the wait is almost over.
According to Chicago Business, Portillo's plans to open a location in Madison next spring.
Portillo's CEO Keith Kinsey said that the company is looking to put the new restaurant near either the East Towne or West Towne mall.
The closest Portillo's location is in Brookfield, Illinois, which is about an hour drive from Madison.

A lot of UW students are already excited for the new Portillo's, including Nicole Koshevatskiy, a Chicago native.
"Portillo's is one of the reasons I look forward to going home to Chicago, so I am beyond excited that it's coming to Madison."
