UW-Madison student arrested after attacking a bouncer at a downtown Madison bar
Haanstad is a UW-Madison senior
Travis J. Haanstad, 21, was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct Friday night after punching a bouncer and knocking him unconscious.
According to the police report, Haanstad allegedly punched the bouncer after he was escorted out of The Ivory Room Piano Bar on State St. for causing commotion.
Officials found the suspect downtown and took him into custody on suspicion of substantial battery and disorderly conduct.
The 43-year-old victim was taken to the hospital after the incident and was treated for his injuries.
Haanstad has no previous criminal charges.
