Why you high school seniors should choose UW-Madison

Let’s be honest, there’s no decision to make. Just choose Madison

It’s the most crucial point of the year for seniors in high school. Acceptance letters are floating around and it is time for you to choose where you want to spend the next four years. This is a tough decision because these years are supposed to be the best ones yet. But don’t fear, I have the only answer for you.  Come to UW-Madison.

School spirit

Every Saturday is a holiday. This is the main reason why I, and most of my friends, chose UW-Madison. Every student gets dressed up in their Bucky gear and heads out to support our team. Langdon and State Street are a sea of fans celebrating and showing their pride for their school.

No other place can compare to the level of spirit we have here. You can hear fans of all ages singing Varsity and Jump Around all the way from Camp Randall. The spirit brings a sense of community to this big school, and that is what makes it so comfortable.

Education

It goes without saying that UW-Madison is a tough school to get into, but once you are here, it is all worth it. UW-Madison is one of the top universities in the country, and it continues to prove itself with its top-notch professors and students. Although we are ranked the number one party school, our 42 different libraries on campus show we study hard before we play hard.

Location

Some may say the middle of Wisconsin isn’t an ideal location, but they are very wrong. We are one of the few schools to be right on the lake and have a big city atmosphere.

Whether you are looking for a day to swim and watch the boats, or a day to go to State Street to eat and shop, Madison offers both. There are two different sides to Madison, so there is truly something for everyone here.

Friendship

Here at UW-Madison, I have made new friendships that will last a lifetime. I truly have found my people and I am so grateful for it. Everyone I know here has said they found their best friends too.

Whether you are involved in greek life, a club, a sport, a FIG, or even a certain class or dorm, you’ll find genuine friends here. Even though the students come from all over the world, we all come together and create the Badger community.

When you get your acceptance letter to The University of Wisconsin-Madison, there should not be any contemplation. The answer is right there in front of you. Come to UW-Madison and experience the true meaning of college and the best four years of your life. I promise you will not regret it.
